Members of Hiwassee College's Great Beginnings, 1849, Hiwassee Bell Societies and President's Circle
are determined by cumulative gifts from July 1 to June 30 each year. The David M. Key, J.H. Brunner and Founder's Society are based on cumulative lifetime gifts.
Founder's Society: $50,000 & up: Named in honor of John Key, Rev. Lewis Carter, John F. Gilbreath, Rev. Joseph Forshee and William Dyer, ;whose vision and commitment to Christian higher education founded Hiwassee College. J.H. Brunner Society: $20,000 - $49,999: Named in honor of Dr. John Hamilton Brunner, an early College leader and President of Hiwassee College on three separate occasions. He was instrumental in the establishment of Hiwassee's Christian identity during his 37 years of service to the College. David M. Key Society: $10,000 - $19,999: Named in honor of David McKendree Key, The College's first graduate who went on to become a United States Senator, Federal Judge, and Postmaster General.
President's Circle: Named in honor of Hiwassee's past presidents. Members of the President's Circle help Hiwassee carry on the legacy of providing a faith-centered education to any qualified student regardless of their ability to pay. Gold: $5,000 - $9,999 Silver: $2,500 - $4,999 Bronze: $1,000 - $2,499
Hiwassee Bell Society: $500 - $999: Named for the famous Hiwassee Bell, which rang throughout the campus for generations, calling the College family together for classes, meals, and chapel. Now prominently housed in a beautiful tower, the Bell symbolizes the far-reaching impact of Hiwassee's graduates in today's world. 1849 Society: $150 - $499: Named after the year that Hiwassee College was founded. Members of this society help ensure that the College's rich heritage will continue to change lives throughout the new millennium.
Great Beginnings Society: $25 - $149 Since 1849, Hiwassee has had a rich history of providing "Great Beginnings" to thousands of students. Members of the Great Beginnings Society help keep the "Hiwassee Spirit" alive.
