A team of dental students recently traveled to Ecuador on a Mission Trip.  The group included Leslie Barkley, RDH, BSDH, a Hiwassee College Dental Instructor and Katie Wiggington, a Hiwassee College student. Watch video.

Ms. Barkley said: “While in Ecuador, I taught dental students about cleanings, sealants, and injections.  Over 400 people came to receive dental services.  We were pleased to see patients smile when taught the value of oral health.  My youngest patient was just 16 months old.  Many thanked us for being there.”

Hiwassee College was founded in 1849 and is located in Madisonville, TN.  Now in its 163rd year, the college offers a variety of programs leading to the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Science degrees.
