Hiwassee College To Present “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown”

Hiwassee College will perform the critically acclaimed musical, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, on the evenings of February 28, March 1 and March 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hiwassee College Auditorium.  The musical is an adaptation of Charles M. Schulz’s comic strip, Peanuts.  Clark Gesner wrote the story, music and lyrics.

You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown opened for the first time on March 7, 1967 in New York at the Theatre 80 St. Marks.  It played for 1,597 performances and in 1971 enjoyed a brief stint on Broadway, playing for 32 performances at the John Golden Theatre.

“This musical tells the story of an ordinary day in the life of Charlie Brown,” stated Micah Montague, Hiwassee College Drama Instructor and Director.  He went on to say, “We have an amazing cast made up of Hiwassee College students, alumni, and other members of the community.  They will have you laughing along to your favorite characters from the comic strip.”
