Boarding Information and Rates

The Hiwassee College Equestrian Center offers both full-care and pasture-care board for the public and for Hiwassee College Students. The Center is run by a professional and caring staff whose main concern is the well-being of each horse on the farm. The Center is open to all disciplines of riders, and to all breeds of horses. 

 

Full-Care Main Barn

  • 13.5′ x 15′ box stall with rubber mats and fans
  • Stalls cleaned daily. Fresh bedding added as needed
  • Twice daily feedings
  • Farm-grown mixed-grass hay
  • Horse-safe fencing in lush pastures
  • Individual or small group turn-out
  • Blanket service (Full-care board horses will have blankets changed out at AM feedings and at PM feedings if necessary. Blankets are removed if the temperature rises above 50 degrees)
  • Fresh water in clean buckets and troughs
  • Access to riding arena, trailer parking, laundry and bath facilities, secure tack room, and riding trails
  • Dewormer will be charged in addition to the monthly board fee. Dewormer is supplied by Hiwassee College Equestrian Center and is administered every two months using 3-way rotation
  • Supplements must be provided by owner and are fed at no extra charge 

Full-Care Hay Barn

  • 10′ x 10′ box stall
  • Stalls cleaned daily, fresh bedding added as needed
  • Twice daily feedings
  • Farm-grown mixed-grass hay
  • Horse-safe fencing in lush pastures
  • Individual or small group turn-out

  • Horse-safe fencing in lush pastures
  • Individual or small group turn-out
  • Blanket service available for pasture-care board horses at $50.00 per month (in addition to regular monthly board) during the months that blankets are required
  • Fresh water in clean buckets and troughs
  • Access to riding arena, trailer parking, laundry and bath facilities, secure tack room, and riding trails
  • Dewormer will be charged in addition to the monthly board fee. Dewormer is supplied by Hiwassee College Equestrian Center and is administered every two months using 3-way rotation

IMPORTANT: Pasture-board horses are fed in a group situation. While every effort is made to make sure that your horse gets his adequate feed and supplements, it is not guaranteed that another horse will not eat your horse’s feed. If you wish to feed supplements, or if your horse is a hard-keeper, then full-care board is a better choice.

Board Rates - Public

  1. Full-Care Board with group turn-out: $375.00 per month
  2. Full-Care Board with individual turn-out: $425.00 per month
  3. Full-Care Board with group turn-out in the Hay Barn: $275.00 per month
  4. Pasture-Care board: $175.00 per month

Board Rates - Hiwassee College Students

  1. Full-Care board with group turn-out: $350.00 per month
  2. Full-Care board with individual turn-out: $400.00 per month
  3. Pasture-Care board: $150.00 per month
