Financial Avenue and Responsible Student Borrowing
Hiwassee College has partnered with Inceptia to provide comprehensive financial literacy solutions, known as Financial Avenue. Together we are committed to ensuring students develop the “financial know-how” to successfully manage their money while they’re in school and after graduation. All students, past and present, have access to comprehensive financial literacy courses, and equally comprehensive mini-modules that cover topics such as paying for school, budgeting, and managing credit.
- Current students are required to complete any (1) course, and any (2) mini-modules for every semester that they are enrolled.
- Continued receipt of Hiwassee institutional aid funds is contingent upon the completion of these requirements.
Students will receive an email with instructions and an access code in the first week of each semester. Please direct any questions regarding the course requirements or access code to the Financial Aid Office.
Student Loan Grace Counseling Outreach and Default Prevention Outreach
Financial Avenue provides the tools for financial success, but what about when you leave college and you begin repayment?
You’re not alone when it comes to student loans. Hiwassee College has partnered with Inceptia, a division of National Student Loan Program (NSLP), to provide you with FREE assistance on your Federal student loan obligations to ensure successful, and comfortable, loan repayment. Inceptia’s friendly customer representatives will reach out to you during your grace period to answer questions you have about your loan obligation and/or repayment options. They will also contact you if your loan(s) become delinquent.
Inceptia is not a collection agency. We’ve partnered with them to help you explore a wide variety of possibilities such as alternative repayment plans, deferment, consolidation, discharge, forgiveness, and forbearance options. Inceptia will stay in touch with you via phone calls, letters, and/or emails to help you find answers to your questions and solutions to your issues.
